Darlington Planning Applications for Manor farm DL2 1PN

OBJECT TO BROILER INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX AT LOW DINSDALE

*This represents a doubling of the existing units already in place, it is likely that if these units are granted it will lead to a many more! totaly blighting this area of special landscape value which is  shared and enjoyed by so many in the wider community. It is not in our opinion apropriate for this kind of industrial complex to blight the landscape and lives of those that live in the locality of Low Dinsdale.

HOW TO OBJECT: make contact by phone, email or letter see below for contact details

Low Dinsdale Scheduled Monument & Protected Landscape

Help stop the Broiler complex at Manor Farm. Dinsdale Manor, the Rectory, the School house and St John the Baptist Church and indeed Manor Farm (the location in question regarding the broiler application) all reside in the heart of Low Dinsdale DL2 1PN;  Dinsdale Manor a rare double moated fortified manor is a scheduled monument protected by law.

Low Dinsdale is the home of the reputed Durham family the Surtess. The history, culture and landscape of Low Dinsdale close by the River Tees is very accessible for people wanting to get out and about into nature from Darlington.

Low Dinsdale features a protected landscape and rightly so; it should be for all of us to work together in a dynamic way to conserve the countryside legacy for future generations and to work towards sustainable projects that add value to the rural economy and create a countryside legacy for all of us.

I think the propsed factory broiler unit at Manor House Farm does nothing but benefit one person short termism and squares against the wider community that love, grow and share Low Dinsdale.

Dinsdale Action Group Forum

The Dinsdale Action Group is being formed up to take position on the proposed Broiler Units at Manor Farm Low Dinsdale DL2 1PN

The group objects to the development of a Industrial complex broiler unit in Low Dinsdale (protected landscape and scheduled monument) on the following grounds
  • The close proximity of the development to dwellings
  • The development will intrude into an area designated as High Lansdcape Value
  • The proximity of the development to the Teesdale Way
  • The application for the 3rd broiler unit was submitted it was said at the time " in a gentlemans agreement" that that would be the last - how many more are planned?
  • The highway or rather country backroad is not suitable for intensive farming
  • Pollution already in the streams, the smell and noise form the units which is already noxious

We will work diligently with the relevant bodies to protect the community health and wellbeing and this rural cultural heritage asset for those that visit this little gem so near Darlignton County Durham.
